THE FUTURE 2001 PROOF COIN

The close of the last millennium was a time to consider
where we have come from as a nation, while the present
is a moment to reflect on the past, cherish what we have
and plan for the future. The future provides a time when
we can realize our dreams and plans, and make further
preparation building on the foundation of past and present.
In this, the last of the $10.00 coins in the Millennium
Coin Series, designer Peter Soobik has captured an image
at the heart of the coin that signifies Australia's 'golden'
age while the mature culture is represented by the original
copper colour. The seedling from The Past has now developed
into a mature tree, its branches forming pointers like the
Federation Star; all the States and Territories have become
a united canopy forming a haven supported by its people.
This coin completes a three coin series spanning the change
from the second to the third millennium. The coins outer
ring is made from 99.9% Copper and the center is made from 99.9%
Fine Silver and has been 24ct Gold plated. There is a limited
mintage of 20,000 coins issued. Each coin comes complete with
a Certificate of Authenticity and is housed in a black velvet
presentation case. This is a beautiful coin and is the perfect
end to a stunning series.
